We will present at the Festival of Montier-En-Der, at the Chapiteau, fort the first time, our photographic work on the owls of Europe “OWLS”. Our exhibition will show the mysterious world of these so attractive birds.

OWLS

The story begins when I discover near of our home a cavity in an old oak. I return to walk near this tree when one day, I see her, merged in the bark, sunbathing! Which wonderful present that to be able to observe the Tawny owl in diurnal light, her, usually so discreet and night. It is our first meeting, magic and unexpected.

Others come during our journeys, every meeting, every photo of an owl creates in us an immense enjoyment, an uncontrollable desire to discover more on this so well hidden and mysterious inhabitants.

These first “finds” fascinate us and pull us in a beautiful adventure where we are going to discover
the thirteen species of owls living in Europe.
With this project, we cross diverse countries during several years. We cross the seasons in universes so varied as seaside or mountains of France, the primary forests of Scandinavia, or the desert plains of the heart of Spain…

It is after more than ten years of ecstasy, searches, dumping, observation, communion with the nature that our work can come true. In natural, diurnal lights, at dawn or in the twilight, the book reveals a little of this fantastic hidden universe.

We thank warmly the people who helped us to realize this dream.
Naturalists, enthusiasts and friends brought us their invaluable support in this quest and their knowledge of the species allowed us to approach the owls without disturbing them in their intimacy.

From the quite small and delicate Pigmy owl to the impressive and deserving Eurasian Eagle owl, every meeting was rich and unique.
We learnt so much by observing these small winged beings…
There are these magic images which float in our spirits, and the intensity of the feelings anchored in hearts… we tried to transmit them to you through this book, to perceive a little of world OWLS.
